My Ministry

I am a staff member serving with the organization YWAM, in Kauai. YWAM which stands for (Youth with a Mission) is a global organization with over 1,100 locations in over 180 countries. Our number one value is to "Know God and Make God Known'. One of the largest ways we participate in that is through running DTS's. DTS,which stands for Discipleship Training School, is a 6 month long school split between two phases; lecture phase and outreach phase. At YWAM Kauai, we know how important it is to love our community even before going out into the nations. As a base we set aside time in our week to reach out to the community. We are thankful for loving and open neighbors in our small town of Waimea. Waimea is a city located on the west side of Kauai. For many years, Jesus lovers on the island have prayed for a revival starting on the west side. Many times we have heard that our base being located on this side of the island is not an accident. We are so expectant for all our miracle working God wants to do in Waimea and beyond.

As a staff member, I am stretched to step into areas where only the Holy Spirit can guide me. My roles include, housing, intercession, having one on ones with students, leading a small group, and leading community outreach. As staff we usually around 11 hour days. Because we live in community, theres never a time where we are "off". The smaller roles we have include guiding conversations within our students, driving students wherever they may need to go, sitting in on lectures everyday , participating in worship, being prayer warriors for our students daily, going to staff meetings, cooking meals, setting up and breaking down our classroom, and the list goes on... One of my favorite parts of my role is one on one meetings with our students. In these times, I get a chance to check up on them, ask them genuine questions, pray for them and their families, and spend the quality time with them that they deserve! Our schedule can get pretty full and busy but recognizing and taking the time to really engage with my students is so vital.
